DECULIN 15
Each tablet contain:
Pioglitazone HCl 16.53 mg
equivalent with pioglitazone 15 mg

DECULIN 30
Each tablet contain:
Pioglitazone HCl 33.06 mg
equivalent with pioglitazone 30 mg

 
:: INDICATIONS ::

DECULIN is indicated as a combination therapy with sulfonylurea or metformin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are inadequately controlled on sulfonylurea and metformin monotherapy.

 
:: CONTRAINDICATIONS ::

Pioglitazone is contraindicated in :

  • Patients known hypersensitivity to pioglitazone or any ingredient in the formulation.
  • Heart failure or history of cardiac failure (NYHA stages I to IV).
  • Hepatic impairment.
  • Current blader cancer or a history of bladder cancer.
  • Pioglitazone is contraindicated for combination with insulin.
 
:: DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION ::

Administration
Should be taken once daily with or without food.

Dosage
Adults:Combination with metformin or sulfonylurea may be initiated at 15-30 mg once daily.

 
:: WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS ::
  • If menstrual dysfunction occurs, weight risk versus benefits of continued pioglitazone.
  • Pioglitazone should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus or ketoacidosis.
  • Patient is recommended to strictly control the intake of calories into the body
  • Pregnancy and lactation
  • Children less than 18 years
  • Hepatic impairment
 
:: ADVERSE REACTIONS ::
  • Adverse reactions combination of pioglitazone and metformin: Anemia, increase in body weight, headache, Visual disturbance, arthralgia, hematuria.
  • Adverse reactions combination of pioglitazone and sulfonylurea: weight gain, hypoglycemia increase lactate dehydrogenase, appetite increased, dizziness, headache, vertigo, Eye disorders, sweating, proteinuria, fatigue.
