:: Compositions ::

DEXACAP® 12.5
Each tablet of DEXACAP® 12.5 contains:
Captopril 12,5 mg

DEXACAP® 25
Each tablet of DEXACAP® 25 contains:
Captopril 25 mg

DEXACAP® 50
Each tablet of DEXACAP® 50 contains:
Captopril 50 mg

 
:: Indications ::
  • Moderate to severe hypertension. DEXACAP® might be used in a single therapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, particularly thiazide-type diuretics.
  • The management of symptomatic congestive heart failure resistant to or inadequately controlled by cardiac glycosides antidiuretics.
 
:: Contraindication ::
To patient with hypersensitivity to captopril or Angiotensin Converting Enzyme inhibitor drugs.
 
:: Dosage and administrations ::

Hypertension:
The initial dose is 12.5-25 mg, 2-3 times daily. After two weeks with unsatisfactory condition, without reduction of blood pressure, the dosage may be increased to 50 mg, 2-3 times daily.

Heart failure:
The initial dose is 25 mg, 3 times daily. The dosage can be started at 12.5 mg, 3 times daily.

 
:: Warnings and precautions ::
  • Neutropenia/agranulositosis
  • Proteinuria/nephrotic syndrome
  • Acute renal failure
  • Fetal/neonatal morbidity and mortility
  • DEXACAP ® should be ended when pregnancy was detected. It may cause injury of fetus or neonates organs.
 
:: Adverse reactions ::

Skin rash, losing of flavor, neutropenia, proteinuria, headache, hypotension. The adverse reactions could be anticipated by administration of captopril less than 150 mg a day.

Concordant to other angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, DEXACAP can cause myalgia, arthralgia, interstitial, nephritis, vasculitis, and an increasing of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR).
